World Music

One of the many unique aspects to Sefton Schools Music Service Interactive is the Track Explorer. The website contains a growing library of world music from SayDisc Records, that gives you access to a wide range of listening activities including religions and percussions of the world, and ethnic instruments to popular shanties and traditional folk music.

Audio is marked up with learning points which cover different aspects of what you’re listening to such as the chords, structure, compositional devices, orchestration and form. You can explore the track from many viewpoints or focus in on just one which may be relevant to what you’re teaching.

Everyone loves using Sefton Schools Music Service Interactive - but don’t take our word for it, why not read what teachers, pupils and Music Services have to say.

Access to these resources is normally by annual subscription to the Music Service. However, as part of our ongoing program of support for music education in Sefton  we are making this invaluable resource available to you until 31st March 2010 absolutely FREE of charge.
