Shrek in the Swamp Karaoke Dance Party (2001)

This is not karaoke in the sense of having synchronised lyrics on screen and is generally too complex to sing along to. Various characters from the film Shrek take turns to sing short excerpts from several well-known pop songs that reflect some aspect of their character. All are sung in one continuous medley. The songs are Just The Way You Are, Like A Virgin, Baby Got Back, Feelings, YMCA, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Stayin' Alive, Who Let the Dogs Out, Dance To The Music, Happy Together.

KS3 idea: you could discuss with pupils what are the necessary musical considerations for turning several songs into a single medley. You might go on to set a composing project where pupils have to take several songs and adapt their tempo, key etc. so that they form an effective medley.
